Mike and Lori,
I just wanted you both to know that I am thinking about you today and praying that everything goes well and that Lori will make a speedy recovery from the surgery.
I wish that I was there to make 'snuggles while watching a Cubs game' with your newborns more a tradition than a one time thing; but there is a gift in that day I spent with Gavin and I get a little teary when I think of it cause I miss that little man so much. I am sure I will easily find a gift in your new little fella, too! No doubt he will be full of gifts and wonder.
Hold your new little one close and love him and cherish him and most of all tell him that his Auntie Carmen, Uncle Matthew and cousin Jack can't wait to see him!!! Thinking of this, his special arrival day, makes me imagine the proper way to swaddle a baby up . . . I am folding the flannel receiving blankets in my mind . . .
Your growing family is ever present in our thoughts but more so today for obvious reasons. You are all amazing people (all 4 of you now) and when you come together as the family that you are you inspire and awe all those around you.
Bless you Barreto Clan 2 and hopefully we will see you at Christmas time!
Love,
Carmen
PS - Know that you have a confirmed babysitter the day we come in!!!
PPS - When I called Jack at school to tell him he had a new cousin he giggled with delight and was sooooooooooooooo excited he asked if he could tell his friends . . . he loves him and is so proud of his new cousin already!
