Jack Is Almost Famous

Today Jack met one of the most popular DJs in Edmonton - Garner Andrews of Sonic 102.9 . . . we went in to drop off our entry for a contest and they rolled out the red carpet for Jackers . . . lots of loot (shirt, lanyard, stickers & autographs) as well as they let him in the studio to see the guts and the glory . . . when we got back in the truck it was just in time to hear Jack's name on the radio which was THE BIGGEST DEAL EVER!!!

Also note that he got a 'Fall Out Boy' haircut & color and has lost a tooth . . . now he is almost a local radio personality . . . growing up . . .

Happy 3rd Birthday Caiden!

So for Caiden's upcoming 3rd B-Day, we revamped his room so that it would suit his new found 3 year old status. We still have some work to do, and this camera really sucks, but I know people weren't sure what the hell we did to his room when we tried to explain it, so here ya go ;)

Things to note:

1) Paint - The helmet stripes were my idea, Rebeca wasn't sure what I was talking about but trusted me anyways and I think it turned out pretty cool.

2) Ceiling Fan - We now have light! Thanks to Papa for this one!

3) Big Boy Bed - Caiden is so funny, he absolutely LOVES this bed and smiles everytime he is in it. Bec and I are jealous, the bed is comfy and the comforter is VERY comfy!

Dear Caiden and Savannah

Thank you for coming to my house to play yesterday. I get so excited when you guys come over! Caiden I hope you are happier now that you are out of timeout. I was very concerned for your well being, but I saw you recovered nicely. Auntie Rebeca is not to be trifled with. I really had a good time when you chased me around the house on my bike. After you guys left I drank two glasses of juice. I was so wound up I could barely sleep.

Charlotte's Web - Jack is really excited to see this movie as we have been reading a chapter a night for the last little while. It is released in theatres on December 15th and we arrive on the 19th. ...i did...you can learn a lot about the barretos on this blog...for instance, next time we are in huntley i want MIL (ma in law) to teach me how to sing 'i want a man with a slow hand' into a hairbrush...and i hope that bec's tummy doesn't hurt...renne is still kind hearted...michelle is still a lovey love...mike is still protective of his siblings...rebeca is still beautiful...rob is still sensible (naked women with no shoes)...lori is still adorable = adlorable...patti is still an awesome mom...jay is still the consumate family man...travis is still the silliest one...victor is very nice (and i wish i had met him more than once in the last 2 years, but it is a start right victor?)...MIL is still a saint - sometimes when i am sad or lonely i can hear her voice in my head telling me "everything will be fine" - for the record MIL i love the sound of your voice, it calms me every darn time... and PIL (pa in law) i am sure stands by the fact that none of his kids are old enough to date yet...my favorite barreto remains, of course, matthew...and i still wonder if he would run away until i remember his love of food, naps and snuggles...jack is so in love with all of you, too...he adores being caiden's older cousin...he thinks savanna is adorable...he thinks little robert is so cool...he thinks kristina is beautiful...he thinks gavin is a great dancer...he thinks kayla hung the moon...not a day goes by when i am not truly thankful to be a barreto...

American Idol Survivor...You Game?

So, here it is. Mike and I were talking yesterday saying it would be fun to have a family version of an American Idol Game. We came up with AMERICAN IDOL SURVIVORTM and this is how it works :

Starting next week, participants will pick 1 Guy and 1 Girl they think will make it to the Finals and ultimately win American Idol. Mike, or I, will post a new Blog Entry next week, and all participants must make their choices prior to the Results Show.

After that, one of us will post a new Blog Entry every week giving status reports of who got kicked off, and how that affects our game!

RULES:

IF one of your selected 2 Idols gets voted off, you lose that Idol and are down to 1 Contestant Left.

IF both of your selected 2 Idols get voted off, you are out of the contest.

The Winner will be the person who will have the Idol they chose, win it all in the Season Finale. In case of tie where multiple people have chosen 1 Idol, the tiebreaker will be how many times that person voted for their Idol, so keep a mental note and no lieing! (In order to keep this fair, there is a 5 vote max per contestant, per week)

The award for 1st Price will be determined once we all discuss a proper Prize for the winner. Maybe a night out on everyone else or something.

A Bonus Prize will be awarded to anyone who can get both of their Idol picks into the Final 2!

So, there you have it. It should be fun, as I think most of us watch it anyway. Be sure to get your picks in before next weeks Results Show!
