I finally got you!!

Ok so this story is one of my greatest accomplishments before marriage and kids. Everyone knows how easy it is to "scare" me, expecially my lovely brother Michael. And if you know how easy it is to scare me then you must know how much I absolutly hate it. My story goes like this. Michael has been scaring the shit out of me since forever i dont remember a time when mike didnt scare me and then laugh histarically as i am beating the crap out of him. So, i set out to get him, i kept trying and thinking of ways to "get" him, since he knew my plan he was always on the watch....... Except this one night. Anyone that lived in the Huntley house back in the day knows that at the end of the hall outside of my parents room(right by the stairs) was were we pilled the laundry, no basket just on the floor. I was walking up the stairs one night and it dawned on me i swear it was a light baulb moment and i heard singing in the backround thats how great this moment was. I knew Mike would be coming up since at this time his room was upstairs. My parents were in there bedroom, so i shut off the hall light and crawled into the dirty clothes covering the bottom of my parents door so there was abosolutly no light, i knew Mike would not turn on hall light because we seldom did we new those stairs like the back of our hands. I can not remember how long i waited there but i was so excited when i heard Mikes voice as he started up the stairs i was hiding so still trying not to get to excited because i didnt want to ruin this amazing moment. As he put his foot on the floor and rounded the corner ( it was like i could here is ever step) i jumped out of the smelly laundry keeping low just in case there were punches thrown because i new he would be so scared and "yelled boo" he screemed like a little girl and started to run i was laughing so hard i managed to say "I finally got you". Even though it was only a split second that he was scared, i got him good and he new it we laughed and he told me that was good thinking. I think he had a new found respect for me even though he still continued to scare me they got less and less i think because he new "pay back is a Bitch" :)

The Mis-Adventures of "The Monte" - The Rob Era

The Monte Carlo was from another era. The era of big heavy doors. Because of the big heavy door era they didn't close real good if you didn't slam them, but that's a story for "The Mike Era" of "The Monte".

First off let me say that I have a lot of good memories from that car. It was a great car. Alternator drained the battery a little fast, and a couple rocker arms were broke, but all in all a good car. :) I will tell all those stories in good time, but this story begins during one of the fondest times I can remember.

My first memories of the Monte begin when someone broke in and stole the extra change and gum from the ashtray in the house in Hanover Park, and busted open the glove box that was screwed shut; In those days Dad and Mom were still driving it, but "The Monte" would soon become the first car to be officially passed down.

This story begins during my Freshman year in High School. Rob was a senior, and was driving his recently handed down car to school everyday. This was a big deal, because there were only so many parking passes handed out for Streamwood High, and he got one.

When Rob got permission to drive to school everyday I figured nothing would change and that I would be taking the bus everyday. You can imagine my surprise when Rob decided I could go with him so I could get some extra sleep, and he made it a point to say so we could hang out more. I was shocked, and honored at the same time. It meant he was recognizing that I was growing up, and he didn't mind being seen with me. Up until this point Rob and I were not very close. I was the pain in the ass little brother and he dealt with me accordingly, and I don't blame him.

I never dreamed he would start to treat me like his friend. It was a great honor. One I will never forget. It was the pinnacle of my life to that point. It instilled a sense of pride and a burning desire to make my big brother proud of me. A desire I had never cared to attend to up until that point. In this simple gesture, he changed my life profoundly. I know it sounds stupid, but it's true. I have never let anyone know when they hurt me, especially emotionally, and him most of all so all those times he fought so that I couldn't go with him and Pete to the forest even tho mom made them take me, were starting to be reversed by this one event. I guess that's why I took his leaving so hard...

One day we were a little more late than usual for school so Rob might have been going a tad fast, but no faster than I had seen him go numerous times before. Long story short, he ran into some guys car while pulling into a parking space. The impact, which wasn't so bad it turns out, broke the front right blinker on "The Monte" and the rear left blinker of the car he hit. He was so worried that I was hurt he asked "Michael, are you OK?" but me, being the kid I was, I'm all "Dude, quick park somewhere else they will never know", (which would have worked If I had hit the guys car, but since it was Rob we would definitely have gotten caught), but Rob, well aware of his likely misfortune and being a good citizen, had the kid paged to the office. Now keep in mind the car we hit is like a 1981 clunker with bondo on it and tears in the rag top. Eventually, the guy comes out. He takes one look at the car and says, "Awe man, I was restoring that car." Rob and I just looked at him, like, "Are you high? That thing was a piece of shit when it was new."

Despite the drama all turned out well, and they didn't turn it onto the insurance company, and Rob paid the kid in cash for the repairs with his movie theatre money. Make money money! Make money money! More like Make baby baby! Make baby baby! Am I right? :) Just kidding. :)

As for the rest of the Rob stories, I will soon share the story of Juan, Juan, Juan and Guillermo and how they wanted to beat this kid with Robs nightstick lucky for him he gets away with just a punch in the mouth. (I actually think it was Jesus and Gus who were in the car that day, but its funny that we knew 3 guys named Juan and they all hungout. :)

Remeber when...

Remember when i hated Jason?? That big jerk (not now) took my tough sister from me and made her a softy. I don't remember any specific reason why i hated him accept that he was always jealous. I don't even remember when or why i started to like him. I remember seeing him for the first time at jewel when he had hair. No offense jay but it was not your look. ;o) I remember that he obviously thought rebeca was hot because when we first met him he was already trying to get her. When boo told me she was getting a job at jewel i was pissed. not because of jay but because she was 18 and she was starting off at minimum wage in a grocery store bagging groceries. it was not the glamorous or high paying job i thought she was capeable of getting. I had high hopes for her career. LOL Anyways, she met this hot guy that worked there and he asked her out. Im not sure i connected it was the same guy we met months before pre-haircut. LOL I remember the first date they had they went to the movies. i had to help boo convince dad it was a good idea for me to drop her off at jewel, so they could go watch a movie after he got off work. That was fun but much easier than i remember it ever being for me. OMG her first date shes almost 19 and dad still didn't want her to go. Oh well, we double teamed him with the dating guidelines and how he can't change the rules everytime we hit the age when we were allowed to do something. He always tried that didn't he? So the story continues, they spent lots of time together and i felt like i lost one of my best friends to a jealous punk boy. Which at the time he was a punk he'll tell you himself, right jay? Time went on lots of things happened and i started to realize that regardless of my feelings toward him he loved my sister and he wasn't about to go anywhere without her. I think once i stopped being selfish and tried to get to know him as a person rather than a spoiled sister stealer i started to like him. Now i truly feel like hes one of my brothers and i know he would do anything for me or anyone of my family members. I am proud to have him as my family and its getting increasingly more difficult to remember when he wasn't a part of our family. I love you Jay i'm proud of the man you have become, thanks for being a great father to my nephew and neice and a great husband to my sister.

Shoebilee

Ok, since we are on the topic of shoebilee, I thought i would add the time when Me and Renee were working i cant remmeber who else was working, but anyway it was a really busy weekend probably one of our annoying sidewalk sales and at the time i was Asst.Manager it must of been a sunday because Marlen wasnt there. I was dealing with so many annoying customers and Renee as usual was so energetic and happy with all these bargin hunters..... aka- jews.... Ok so Renee was at the register ringing people up, her favorite job!! i literally had to tear renee away from registar duty. She gets to this lady mind you the lines are like out the door, renee calls me to the register, i come over and the lady preceeds to tell me that this shoe (babyshoe) has a scuff on it and she wants to know if she can get money off , mind you this is the display shoe and the only one we have so it is already marked down to like $10 and its nike brand, so of course she is annoying me, i tell her since it does have a scuff on it, (which by the way i couldnt even see) i tell her i will take another 10% off basically making the shoe a steal, but no she actualy had the nerve to complain again. So, me being the person that i am say listen lady " the shoe is already marked down because its the last shoe and i am going to give you 10% off on top off that, so what do you want? i cant give you the shoe for free either take it or put the shoe back" at this point i think she relizes that she is not going to bargain anymore and she shuts up, i ask her again do you want the shoe or not? and her husband says yes we will take it. I will never forget Renee's face she was like OMG i cant believe you just said that, she was shocked but told me it was awesome. I am not sure if that is what started her "say whats on your mind personality" but either way i thought it was a funny story.

Fourth of July

Okay, so I know I am a little late on this post but my internet has been shoddy at best. And everytime I call tech support the only thing they tell me to do is unplug it. OKAY I GET IT TECH SUPPORT, I KNOW TO UNPLUG IT WHILE I AM WAITING ON HOLD FOR 45 MINUTES....IT STILL ISN'T WORKING!! WAAA!
Anyways, I just wanted to give a little shout out to the days of Shoebilee. I would like to preface this story by saying that for my 15th birthday the only thing that Rebeca gave me was an application. I was taking a nap and I woke up and there was an application for Shoebilee sitting on my chest. LOL I thought that was funny. But I have to say to Rebeca, that was the best job I have ever had.
These were the days after Matthew and before Michelle. Anyways, Marlen (our boss) told us that for Fourth of July we didn't have to dress in uniform and we could wear something patriotic. So, of course we were all excited we didn't have to wear our uniforms for a day. Now, I don't know if it was my strange ability to take things literally but because I heard the word Patriotic, I searched up and down in my closet for something with stars and stripes...the works. Finally, my eyes rested upon a T-Shirt that was about 3 sizes to big for me, it was navy blue with white cuffs that had red and blue stars on it. And if that wasn't bad enough my shirt also had all of the looney tunes on it wearing some sort of patriotic outfit. So fourth of July comes and I walk into work donning my XL Looney Tunes T-shirt...might I add that I was expecting my co-workers to be wearing similar garb. So, I walk into work and I notice that my co-workers have no stars or stripes anywhere on their clothing. All they had were red or white shirts with blue jeans. Still though, it doesnt dawn on me that maybe I went a little overboard until Rebeca takes one look at me and as she is trying to hold back laughter....shes says..."what are you wearing? You look ridiculous!" I'm like, oh I didn't know that we could wear things like that...I thought we were trying to be patriotic. So, all day I am pulling down on this huge T-shirt trying to keep it from hanging off my shoulders...all because I didn't think I had any other "patriotic" clothing. Now, if Marlen had said wear red, white and blue, I would have come in an entirely different ensemble. We had a good laugh about that. I was trying to call Rebeca on the fourth to remind her of my patriotic blunder but I couldn't get a hold of her and so I decided to write a blog. Although I am not sure if this translates into how funny it really was to anyone else, but at least Rebeca and I will get a good kick out of it. LOL

The Sockie Killer!

I don't know what it is, but I have always had a knack for making up fun new games to play since I was very little. Little does everyone know that there is a game that I play in my head all the time that classifies the games as winners and losers. In order for a game to make it into the winners category it needs to do one or more of several things.

WINNERS
1. Make you laugh
2. Have a danger factor, but not bad enough that you won't keep playing if you get hurt. A subset of this is everyone gets to get hurt and hurt someone else. Bonus points if I never get hurt. :)
3. Get everyone involved. Unless you were just way too small. Sorry Renee this game if for people 21 and over. :( LOL
4. Make you feel like a ninja. Because ninjas are so cool I wanna crap my pants! :)

LOSERS
1. Someone gets hurt and tells. Getting hurt and not telling is different.
2. Matt stops playing in like 8 seconds. This included all board games.
3. I get hurt. :)
4. Something breaks that is integral to playing the game. Doesn't make it a loser, but we don't get to play again and that sucks.

The game I am about to introduce you to was only played by myself and Rob, and fulfilled 3 of the 4 criteria for a fun game. You can pick which three as I tell the story.

First a little backstory. Being a 12 year old ninja is hard work since you have no money the items of your ninja trade are hard to come by. This being the case you need to improvise. Here are a list of my ninja tools:

Chinese Stars: Instead of metal Chinese stars I had paper ones with sewing needles taped into the tips and a penny in each point for weight.
Ninja Outfit: Shirt Wrapped around my head to make like a ninja mask.
Nunchucks:3 pairs of tube socks. One pair is strungout and tied together in the middle with a balled up pair in each sock.

In full ninja gear I would sneak up on unsuspecting bad guys and attack with my killer nunchucks. When swung with enough force the nunchucks made a great noise on impact and even hurt a little. (Rob was the only victim after I hit Matt in the eye. Sorry Matty good boy for not telling tho.) :)

I am not sure when it started but one day I grabbed my nunchucks on a whim and decided I would be the sockie killer so Rob was on the toilet and he forgot to lock the door. I knew this was my chance to claim my first victim. I open the door and ran in yelling "Sockie Killer!!" and beat the crap out of him with the balled up socks. He was laughing so hard he could hardly choke out what is a sockie killer, and a s quickly as the attack began it was over and I escaped with him still laughing hysterically on the crapper. Over a period of a couple years I would always surprise him in the same spot, and sometimes he would threaten me , but he would always wind up laughing really hard when it was over. Maybe it was my tighty whities or my insane look or the fact that I never gave the impression that I was doing anything but seriously trying to kill him with a sock. Whatever it was it is a fond memory for both of us. The best part is, when we talk about it he is still puzzled as to what the point was or about what prompted the attacks to this day.

this one is shocking!!

I thought it was about time for me to contribute to this ingenius site. I'm very suprised nobody has shared this story yet. I miss you all and love reading the memories. I dont know how accurate this story will be but this is what i remember. This is a classic story that will forever make me smile...;)

So, when we were little, as most of you remember we used to play some pretty sweet games. Made up of course by one of the coolest guys I know, Mikey. Ok, So we built a little make-shift town in the basement with blankets and what not, we even had a post office. I'm not sure what we called the game but i do know we loved to play it. Well from what i remember mike and matt were crawling around on their hands and knees moving swiftly from room to room (rooms in the town were separated by blankets). Boo and i were talking on the phone (cans connected by a string) when mike and matt told us to come over because they wanted us to see something. So of course like the perfectly submissive little angels we were (at least me ;)hah) we went to see what the big deal was. It turns out that while they were crawling around they stumbled upon a frayed cord (belonging to the fan). When their hands landed on it as they were crawling, it shocked them. So what are brothers to do but share this exciting news with their unsuspecting sisters? I don't actually remember touching it with my own hand but I'm sure I did. What i do remember is the reason i am even writing this great story. Renee was upstairs rocking on the couch, undoubtedly singing about mikes yellow shoes or how rebeca yelled at her, when mike gets the idea to have renee touch the bare wire. (What a sweet brother he never wanted any of us to miss out on something.) Renee comes downstairs against her will if i remember correctly and we trie to get her to touch the wire. This is where the smartest child thing comes in, she said "no im not touching that." All of us dissappointed that she was smart enough to know something was up needed something to convince her it was safe. Michael, once again, the genius with great ideas gives her a fork to touch it with but thats not it, to make her feel even safer we all held hands. I'm sure you can imagine what happened next she touched it, we all felt it, she screamed, cried, and somehow mom and dad never found out until a few years ago. What i want to know is who got her to keep here mouth shut about it??

Naybers!

I remember when I used to work for N.I.R. and the bright spot of my day was coming home and playing the Sega Genesis version of Jeopardy.

Brother Fooqua was quite the force on the Jeopardy tour...

Let us never forget about 'asp'

:D

Spelling Not Important. :)

One of many.......

Family vacations, they all pretty much stick out in my head but i will never forget the trip to Canada, if my memory serves me correctly we headed to Canada after spending what like a week there doing anything and everything, like going to the amusement park and Mike and I singing "i had the time of my life" that is something i would like to forget. Even though i have the tape, i just cant bring myself to get rid of it.Its a memory that i will have forever, it basically reminds me that i have a horrible voice. We also went to alot of Go-Kart places in canada so the navigator of the trip Mike decided to pitch a wonderfull idea to our parents since we had to start heading home the plan was to hit every Go-Kart place there was from canada to illinois, well since both my parents are kids at heart it didnt take much to convince them it was a good idea, so we were off if there wasnt a Go-Kart place in passing we would make and extra trip out of our way to go. Well after lots of money and a million Go-Kart rides later we reached home.

When your a kid you dont relize how much your parents do for you, i mean seriously think of how much money they had to spend just on Go-Karting for 7 people, that probably set them back for weeks but it didnt matter they did it for us and its a memory i will have forever. I look forward to doing stuff like that with my kids.

My Christmas Compilation(s)...

I forget what Christmas it was, but if I remember right it was Rebeca, Renee, Michelle and myself. We were all sitting around the kitchen table decorating our stockings and for some reason (girls if youremember, let me know) but Rebeca and I started to wrestle.

Long story short, I managed to hog-ty Rebeca...my arms wrapped her torso, pinching her arms to her sides. My legs were wrapped around hers, so she could not move.

The next thing I know, Rebeca starts to get tiltyder and tiltyder climaxing with a crash to the floor with her chin BAM. LOL, I don't know why she did it, but she led with her chin and she went down hard. I think we all couldn't stop laughing the rest of the night.

Pt II

It was Rebecas and my first Christmas together in our new house! We wanted everything perfect...Mike and Lori were living with us...Bec was running over innocent white bunnies, so we wanted to get the perfect tree in our new home.

We went out and cut one down...which outside seemed like a decent sized tree for our house. Well...when we got it home and unleashed it by cutting the netting, the thing practically covered our entire living room. I kid you not, if you ever watch the lighting of the XMas Tree Ceremony in New York...our tree gave birth to that tree.

Anyway, the thing was ginormous. And after hours and hours of trying to decorate it so there were no sparse spots, we were finally done. We all sat around and glared in awe at it's hugeness.

If I remember right, the fucker first fell in the middle of the night...I'm surprised the house didn't sustain any structural damage LOL. So, half asleep, we picked everything up...kinda reorganized the ornaments...threw away the broken ones and went back to sleep.

Next morning...CRASH...down for the count again. Now we are getting pissed cuz this is just getting retarded. Again, we pick everything up, reorganize whats left. At this point we are down to ~50% ornaments and the tinsel (NEVER go with tinsel, it is the devil) was now all clumped up into one centralized location on the tree. It looked FUGLY, like Donald Trumps hair. But we did our best to get it presentable again.

Finally, the thing goes down a third time. TKO...the tree just didn't want to go on. It secretley had it out for us since we brought it in the house and tried to make it fit. Like a mother forcing her fat kid to try to fit into the slim when he should be in the husky section...And we could give 2 shits at this point, we put itback up...put a weight on the tree and left it bask in its fugliness.

We did get out of it what we had wanted, a memorial first Christmas. One that Bec, Mike, Lori or myself will ever forget Im sure.

Christmas Compilation

I would like to make a compilation of these stories for Christmas for each one of our families, (you will be able to add pages, so your book will become unique to your family over time.)

To help with the process I would like certain people to write particular stories, and for certain stories just to get written. It might be cool to have multiple people wirte about the same thing too. For instance the Road trip to Florida (Me, Lori, Matt, Michelle or Renee) or the lake Powell Vacation or maybe the Granada Vacation or the Disney World Vacation. I think I still have the journal we wrote with the pictures of Matt sleeping 45 minutes into the trip. ROFL! I will take on the responsibility to write all stories of abandonment. This will encompass four of the 6 children. Fuck I'm funny. Bec and I are the bestest. :) Some good general topics might be: Your Favorite Christmas "The Video", Your favorite moment with a single family member (I.E. The time I went to McDonalds with Rebeca and the old lady thought we were boyfriend and girlfriend.) Get in shape girl! ROFL so sad, but funny too. Most embarassing story would be great fun too. I shudder to add to that (My super Axle in the hallway Kristina and Lori can laugh at me about that one.) Crap I suck.

TOPICS:
Any funeral
The W's
Favorite Vacation
Your birth stories (mom you could write a book just about this.) :)
A compilation of I REMEMBERs. I.E.
I REMEMBER: Matt in his underwear every day.
I REMEMBER: Dad falling in his chair and spilling rice
I REMEMBER: My first ride in the Towtruck.
I REMEMBER: Opening all the Christmas presents. I feel like crap still for that one.
I REMEMBER: Playing Football in the house in Elgin

Please post at this site or SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH YOUR STORY YOU WROTE OR WRITE IT AND MAIL IT OR FAX IT. I don't care how I get it I just want it. :)

Here's A Serious One...

It is probably the most happy and most overcome with emotions I had experienced in my life.

It as February 24th and Rebeca had already been trying to get Caiden out for almost 2 hours before they wheeled her back to surgery for an emergency C-Section. As I sat there and watched them wheel her off, the nurse came and got me, gave me some scrubs and directed me to the waiting room before I could join my wife in the O.R. As I sit and wait I began to quietly cry, because this scenario was all to familiar to me. It felt like dejavu and I must admit, I thought I was preparing myself for another Tyler situation.

I remember sitting in there looking down at the footies they gave me thinking they still don't come close to fitting!!! Everything was so similar that it frightened me. I was forced to go back and remember everything about that day...Rebeca bleeding, doubled over in pain, whisking her away, seeing my child's chest vigorously pumping up and down trying to get air, to the ultimate heartbreak with the nurse saying that our son had made the decision for us...he did not make it. (if you are reading this thinking I am strong for getting through it, sorry to dissappoint but I am crying right now.)

But, Tyler made it possible for the moment I started to tell you about.

When the nurse finally came to bring me back to Bec, I was numb. They took me in, I sat next to my wife and I was horrified. I honestly thought Caiden was not going to make it.

So when they removed him...and I heard him cry...hahaha...tears coming again...I cannot describe the feeling. I was SO happy and SO relieved to hear even that much that I knew everything was going to be alright. And as he sit there and cry, I said 'Caiden' and he turned his head, looked at me in the eyes and stopped crying. VERY moving.

What's scarey is I actually love him more today than that moment...and Im sure that love will continue to grow as it has everyday since then.

Caiden, Daddy loves you so much! I hope this is around when you understand what it is saying, and I know mommy and I will let you know where your middle name came from so you can be as proud of it as we are that your big brother sacrificed so you would have a better life. I need to end this, far to hot to be crying this much!

And Bec, my love, you made me so proud that day! I am blessed to have you as the mother of my children.

Sweet Sassy Molassi!!

Okay, so I think college has numbed my brain because I haven't posted a blog because I wasn't sure how to. LOL Yeah, I'm supposed to be the smart one, right Dad? Anyways, now that I finally have time to sit down and chat, I would like to post my blog about my brother Matthew.

I remember when I was graduating eighth grade and Matthew was going off to the Navy, he said to me, I'm sorry I won't be around to watch you grow up. Of course, he didn't get to call often and we all worried about him all the time.

I remember whenever I heard the phone ring, I would hope it was him, just to hear his voice and know he was okay. One time he called (and because I was the only one home, I got the sole priviledge of talking to him, which made me very happy) and we started discussing the beauty of the internet. He said he had created a yahoo instant messeger account, and I should create one too so we could chat when I got home from school (which I think was 2am his time). So I did and my name was SweetSassyMolassi, lol. But, really thats besides the point.

The whole point of the story was that I would rush home every day just so that I could chat with my big brother. And it didn't matter if we talked about anything profound but it just made me feel good because he was chatting with me and only me.

Yesterday, I had the day off work and I just installed hi-speed internet, so imagine my surprise when I logged on to my msn account and Matthew was logged on too. It just brought me to those times when I would rush home and sign in just to see if he was there. I guess I just wanted Matthew to know that that time chatting with me, really meant a lot and I am glad that we could share it.

Oh and by the way Matthew, you haven't missed anything, I still haven't grown up.

Bori Larreto!!!

What's up with everyone? Mike puts this Blog up for us all to poston, and noone is posting anything! Pep up people! Look alive!

Anyway, here is my story about the sweet and everso innocent Lori!Still makes me giggle to this day thinking about how innocent she wasbefore Mike turned her over to the Dark Side to where she rules today! JK Lor ; )

So back when I lived with Bob and Ann the 1st time, we used to haveLAN parties for Diablo or Tribes etc. Well, one night...we startedone, and I went to go to my usual PC down in Mikes bedroom in thebasement only to see the door to his room closed.

I knocked...and out walks Mike looking beat down and exhausted. I askif he is gonna join in, he says nah, that he is way too tired and isgoing right to bed. (the award for best actor goes to.......NOT Mike) So, I say...OK...and I go to leave. Just before I do, I saygoodnight to Mike...he says goodnight back and I then say 'Goodnight Lori'. Out of the dark room I hear Lori in her voice say'Goodnight!'.

I laughed as I walked back upstairs.

You are so cute, Lori! That will always make me smile.
